Welcoming Kennedys to Gentle Farming

This summer, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting over 100 members of the Healthcare team from international law firm Kennedys for a day of hands-on volunteering, learning, and community impact at Gentle Farming in Cambridgeshire.
Colleagues traveled from London, Birmingham, Cambridge, and Sheffield to join us. A bit of typical UK wind and rain wasn’t enough to dampen anyone’s spirits — the team rolled up their sleeves, got their hands dirty, and made a tangible, lasting impact on our farm and the wider community.
What We Achieved Together (By the Numbers)
It’s amazing what can be accomplished in a single day when a team comes together with purpose:
🌿 1,000 m² of public footpath cleared to create ‘Kennedys Way’, improving local access to nature.
🐝 4 bee hotels built to support vital pollinators across the landscape.
🌸 500 wildflower seed bombs made, which will produce around 5,000 wildflowers.
🎒 20 wellbeing packs prepared for young people supported by The Children’s Society’s Biggleswade Hub.
🪴 Community planters built for Kinderley Community Primary School, Sutton St James Community Primary School, and Black Barn Farm, benefiting around 200 pupils as well as local social prescribing and community kitchen initiatives.
🚜 4 educational sessions delivered by our Gentle Farming team on regenerative agriculture, healthy soils, biodiversity, and the links between nature and human health.
Connecting Agriculture, Wellbeing & Corporate Impact
There is a natural, powerful link between nature, community wellbeing, and personal health. As healthcare providers place greater focus on prevention and social prescribing, bringing a healthcare legal team out to the farm highlighted just how connected our food systems, soil health, and wellbeing really are.
Our relationship with Kennedys goes back to our time in the Bright Tide Regenerative Farming Accelerator, where Kennedys was a founding partner. Working together, we’ve helped build a sustainable corporate volunteering framework—allowing businesses to invest in biodiversity and local charities while helping farms like ours diversify and thrive for the future.
"The weather may have been a world away from the UK's recent heatwave, but the wind and rain certainly didn't dampen spirits as colleagues rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into a day of volunteering, learning and community action."— Christopher Malla, Partner & Head of Healthcare, Kennedys
"Partnering for this event highlighted exactly why we open our doors at Gentle Farming. Hosting the Healthcare team brought a vibrant energy to the farm and reinforced our vision for a future where corporate volunteering plays a vital role in scaling sustainable practices while giving teams a meaningful place to reconnect."— Thomas Gent, Founder of Gentle Farming
